How is the Weather in Sedona?
The sun shines 300+ days a year. Our weather is magnificent! We are between Flagstaff and Phoenix, however our climate is very different from the cold, snowy climate in Flagstaff and Phoenix’s hot desert conditions.
Sedona is an Oasis between the Desert and the Mountains
The elevation of Phoenix is 1,000 feet above sea level and Flagstaff is 7,000 feet. Sedona is nestled at 4,500 feet and offers a mild, comfortable climate. We average 18 inches of snow annually, which usually disappears within a day. The average US city gets 26 inches a year.
Records & Average Temperatures in Sedona
We are in the high mountain desert, while it is usually sunny and warm during the day, it gets cool at night. In spring, summer and autumn it is wise to have a light jacket, or sweater for the evenings, even though you may be comfortable in shorts during the day. In winter a winter jacket is suggested for the nights, and heavy sweaters are usually comfortable during the day.
