What is a Miracle?
When you think about the word miracle, what comes to your mind?
When I think about miracles, especially in the context of a “Reiki miracle” I immediately think of a result of prayer, which has been energized with Reiki, and left, undisturbed, as an offering upon the “altar” within the heart and mind of God.
Reiki can help you learn to release attachment to outcomes, to others and to things. It can help you trust that all things happen for the highest good. Miracles manifest when there are no attachments, or expectations.
To create a miracle it is important to release attachments to and expectations of yourself, others, and the results of your prayers. Release opens you to experience the manifestation of your prayers in ways that are much grander than you may have imagined. Divine Love, which resides within the heart and mind of God, is the energy that fuels miracles. Divine Love is limitless.
You can learn to practice unconditional, limitless Reiki. It is easy. When channeling Reiki simply move your personality and ego aside and KNOW Reiki IS “working” on many levels.
It is very important to remember that Reiki will never cause harm. Results are easier to witness when you, as a practitioner, strengthen your light, and command your ego and personality to step aside. It is the personality and the ego that can cause you to try to manipulate or control, or create a desire to intellectualize what is happening during a healing, or a prayer session. A tendency to manipulate or control, creates attachment to outcome.
Your personality can also create fear or doubt, when you are wondering if you are “doing Reiki right”. Perhaps the ego causes you to worry that you are imagining what you are sensing or hearing. When you do sense something the ego can say “I must be making this up” rather than inspiring full trust and release of attachment. Any of these functions of the ego and personality are ineffective. This is because they create an energetic filter or veil, which prevents Reiki from flowing through you in its clearest, truest and most powerful way.
Quieting the Ego
If you are wondering just how to silence the ego when you are practicing Reiki, there are many ways to do this. However, I find the easiest way is to focus on the Usui Reiki power/focus symbol (CKR). When you recognize that your mind is wandering, or trying to analyze, or “understand” what is happening in the session, simply switch the thoughts to CKR. You might even create a simple mantra by repeating the sacred name of this symbol, silently, in your mind. This will activate the primary qualities of the symbol, power and focus. Another thing you might try is to repeat an affirmation silently. I love to use “Be still and know IAM, Be still and know IAM, Be still and know IAM” repeat continuously as long as you wish. This will keep your mind occupied so it is much more challenging for the ego to interfere. Once the ego is quiet, the flow of Reiki becomes stronger because ego is no longer filtering the flow.
Egos have created some confusion in the Reiki community about when, and when not to use Reiki. I have heard people say, never use Reiki to heal a broken bone until it has been set…never use Reiki on a burn … never use Reiki when a person is about to receive an anesthetic, and so on and so on. I am very fortunate that I didn’t hear any of this until I personally saw a broken bone set, and a burn heal before my eyes, using Reiki. I am grateful that my ego did not allow me to doubt, or fear the healing process. Reiki IS Divine Love, and it is guided by Divine Intelligence. The energy itself knows exactly what is needed, and works to create the perfect healing. Our ego does not know what is for the highest good, and so it can inadvertently interfere with the flow of energy.
Why Am I Not Getting Results with Reiki?
I am often asked by Reiki practitioners, “Why don’t I get results with Reiki? What am I doing wrong?”
First of all it is not possible to do Reiki “wrong” just as it not possible to “love” wrong. The very question itself indicates that the ego is engaged, because the ego judges. There are three core issues which affect our ability to initiate healing, Fear, Trust and Release. Then there is action to take, which can be summarized in FOUR Simple Steps.
When we open the door for miracles; we learn to practice Reiki fearlessly, trust it completely, and step out of the way by releasing all attachment to outcome. Then take action with the FOUR Simple Steps to creating a miracle.
- Be grateful in advance
- Release expectation of outcome
- Be patient and TRUST
Create Your Own Miracle
What is your heart’s desire in this moment? Do you want a better job, or a healthy relationship? Do you want your financial situation to improve? Is a healthier body your goal? Perhaps you wish for Reiki to produce a miracle for someone else.
Whatever your heart’s desire is in the moment, bring it to your mind. Activate or invite Reiki to flow through, and move your personality/ego out of the way. Then create a prayer by simply speaking from your heart. For example, if your intention is to help someone else, you might create a prayer like this:
“Creator, I am grateful that (person’s name) is healing in the perfect way, in the perfect time; and that this healing serves the highest good of all concerned. And So it IS!”
OR “Creator I give thanks that I am peaceful and my financial situation is improving in every moment, as this can serve the highest good of all. And So It IS!”
When the spoken word combines with the flow of Reiki and is released, and you are grateful in advance, patient and trust; miracles happen.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
You may see immediate “results” or it may take days, months or years, but you will eventually see the miraculous manifestation of your prayers. You will know that together with the unconditional love of God, you have co-created a miracle.
Wishing you peace, love and abundant miracles.
